More analogue stick and glue illustration
I'm building up my portfolio of traditional scalpel and glue collage work. It's great working with real tactile objects rather than intangible digital files. Here's the latest piece.

I've moved to Berlin, Germany
Guten Tag, online people.
Exciting times! After much planning and more than a few moments of stress, I've moved to Berlin, Germany.
I'm looking to make contact with Berlin art/illustrator/design people. If that's you, perhaps you would like to get in touch.
Ich kann nicht sehr gut Deusch sprechen. Ich bin lernen.

My work in RFID Journal
RFID Journal Magazine based in Melville, New York has featured one of my illustrations. If you're wondering, RFID stands for radio frequency identification. RFID is a term used to describe technologies that use radio waves to automatically identify people, animals or objects.
Here's the illustration.

Chocolate wrappers of 1980's Eastern Europe
I've been having a bit of a clear out. Whilst rummaging through the mountain of printed matter I've collected I came across some chocolate bar wrappers and other ephemera from an InterRail trip through Eastern Europe back in '84 or '85, I can't remember exactly when.
I tried selling them on Ebay but had no interest. So I decided to make a quick collage using some of the items.
Lessons learned from this experience: You never know when an old airline sick bag is going to come in handy.

I'm now on FigDig
In an attempt to splatter my work across the web I've joined FigDig. They invited me, and probably every other illustrator in the world, to set up a portfolio. So I thought "why not?". It's free, and that's the price I like.
You can take a peep at my FigDig portfolio here.

New work for iSpot
I've been selling stock illustration through The iSpot for some time now. It's not a massive earner by any standard, however it is a nice surprise when the royalty cheque comes through the letterbox.
I know there is a lot of discussion in the illustration/photography industry regarding the pros (extra income from royalties) and cons (the devaluing of images) on stock work. For now, I'm prepared to explore it as an income source.
Anyway.....here's a couple of pieces I've been working on for stock. Please click on the pics to see bigger version, thanks.

Hello internet people
This year, 2008, marks my 20th year in business and that seems a perfectly good reason to give my website a total rework. I've decided that this rework means extending my online presence by starting a blog. So here it is.
One thing I've realised whilst redesigning my website is the gap between what I want to do and my knowledge of how to make it happen. I guess working with computers is always going to feel like that. I'd just like to say thanks to everyone I've pestered on forums for clues to unraveling css and java. You probably don't even know who you are, but thanks anyway.
My new website will be live soon. Right now it's covered in a white, silky sheet that's flapping tantalisingly in a wind machine generated breeze.
More soon.
